Privacy policy

Draft for review. This page hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before launch.

This policy explains what personal data Tail & Heart collects, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and optionally your phone number and address.
  • Pet details you add: profiles, photos, health and vaccination records, weight and reminders.
  • Messages and enquiries you send to businesses through the site.
  • Security data: a keyed hash of your IP address and your browser type, used to protect accounts and prevent abuse.

How we use it

  • To run your account and show your information back to you.
  • To pass your enquiry to the business you contacted, with only the details needed to respond.
  • To keep the service secure, including rate limits on sign-in and forms.
  • To send pet care tips and product news, only if you opted in. You can stop these at any time.

Your pets' health records

Health and vaccination records are private by default. They are visible only to you, and are never shown on public pages. Any future sharing with a vet or carer will be under your control.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, and withdraw consent you have given.

  • Download a copy of your account data from My account.
  • To correct or delete your data, or raise a grievance, contact us using the details on our contact page.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with businesses you choose to contact, with service providers who host and run the site for us, or when the law requires it.

Retention and security

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep some records. Passwords are hashed, sessions can be ended by logging out, and access to personal data is limited to people who need it.
